    WORLD NEWS.
24 hours digital TV news stations via the Internet. Live (streaming) or recorded video feeds. Requires Internet video players plug-in, such as RealPlayer (RealNetwork), Windows Media Player (Microsoft) or QuickTime Player (Apple). As a rule the faster your internet access, the better the quality and size of the video screen.

For best viewing, the typical average broadband range is 128kbs to 512kbs, hence ISDN, DSL, cable modem, and T1 LAN internet access is the norm. TV stations broadcasting above 512kbs are very few at the moment (mostly in Japan, Europe and the US), but such speeds allow high quality 14 inch video display. For the lucky ones, a 10Mbs LAN connection gives DVD quality and full screen (17 inch) video display, (but only if you are lucky to find a TV station broadcasting at that speed!). Ordinary modems working at 33.6kbs to 56kbs will work for some TV channels, but the video screen wil be small (typically just larger than the size of a match box), and video quality sometimes poor. Remember that even if you have high speed Internet access such as DSL, it will be insignificant if the TV station you are watching is broadcasting video data at lower speeds than DSL such as 56kbs. These links ensure you do not need satellite TV, to watch TV news channels around the globe. See also World satellite TV stations.

The following are some major TV news stations around the world. Video broadcasts, and text reports are in the local language. Text news in foreign languages can be translated from English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Dutch, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and vice versa, plus other major languages. Use AltaVista Babel Fish Translator, or Systran Translator or the Babylon Translation Service.

24 hours indicates that the actual TV station is a dedicated 24 hour news channel. All the rest have news updates at different times of the day. But almost all these TV station websites actually supply hourly news updates, round the clock.
